Every collection is a new part of the university. A club. A society. A faculty. A team. A term. A tradition. Some have existed since 1963, when Duarte Ferão opened the outfitters that started it. Some were founded last Tuesday.
Duarte Ferão left Porto in 1961, apprenticed two years with a New England tailor, and opened his own outfitters in 1963. What he made for the clubs, crews, and societies nobody else was equipping became the house style — and the reason a Portuguese name sits over a collegiate crest.
